Nice to meet you. I’m Esin.
Originally a graphic designer, I became a metalsmith in 2013, forming my jewellery brand Emma Krafft Jewellery, which I named after my German great-grandmother. With the birth of my daughter (who I also named Emma) in 2023, my introspection led me to intaglio carving, where I can meditate and combine both skill sets to create unique pieces of art. I currently work between Istanbul, Athens and the small seaside town of Urla.

Of course! Custom pieces are special projects that take time and care. Please get in touch to discuss the details.

For reverse intaglios, I use primarily clear or dyed Quartz. For surface intaglios, nearly all gems are possible, but Onyx, Lapis and varieties of Agate are my favorites.

As it is risky to send valuable items internationally, I currently do not accept such requests. However, if you are able to drop them off in person to the Istanbul studio, please get in touch.

Ready-to-wear pieces are shipped within 3 business days, while custom pieces can take up to 6 weeks to complete. All designs are discussed prior and during the design and making process.

I do carve custom graphics, but please get in touch with an image (preferrably vector format) beforehand to discuss the possibilities.

Items are shipped from Istanbul via UPS international tracked shipping.

All intaglios are final sale and are not available to return or exchange unless items contain obvious defects.
The Process
Each piece is meticulously hand carved using diamond burrs, water and lubricant. Whether in reverse or on the surface of the gem, each is carved under magnification, creating magical little worlds.
